Vehicles change, requirements evolve – the Sortimo Rail System (SRS) remains flexible to use. With a new folding shelving unit for the CEP sector and the SRS Rent & Repurpose rental model, Sortimo is expanding the system with two solutions for cost-effective and adaptable fleet operations. Fittings can be used flexibly, reused or rented for a defined period, thereby enabling their use across multiple vehicle life cycles. SRS is also available as an SRS Inside factory option from leading vehicle manufacturers.
For fleets, the Sortimo Rail System provides long-term investment protection and reduces total costs over the vehicle’s life cycle: SRS shelving can be used flexibly as requirements change and reused across multiple vehicle cycles. The basic fit-out is available ex-works for models from Opel, Fiat, Citroën and Peugeot. In future, SRS will also be available for vehicles from Ford, Renault and MAN.
Greater flexibility for CEP fleets with the new SRS folding shelving unit
In the dynamic courier, express and parcel (CEP) sector in particular, the demands placed on vehicles and their load compartments are constantly changing, requiring equipment that can be flexibly adapted to the specific task at hand. With the new SRS folding shelving unit, Sortimo is therefore specifically expanding the SRS range to meet these requirements.
When shelf space is required, the folding shelves can be operated with one hand, quickly creating space for larger or bulky items as needed. If the entire load area is required, the complete shelving unit can be removed from the vehicle without the need for tools. Non-slip shelves with anti-slip edges and the integrated load securing system via the ProSafe System ensure safe parcel transport.
SRS Rent & Repurpose: Renting vehicle fittings instead of buying them
With SRS Rent & Repurpose, Sortimo extends the flexibility of the system to the financing arrangements as well. Businesses can rent custom-configured SRS shelving for 12, 24, 36 or 48 months, thereby avoiding a significant capital outlay at the start of use. Costs remain predictable over the agreed term, whilst Sortimo bears the residual value risk of the rented shelving systems.
The advantage of renting during the term is clear: Thanks to SRS, vehicle fittings can be deployed as required – from a fully equipped shelving system, through simple load securing using the SRS basic kit, to the use of just individual shelves, depending on the nature of the job and day-to-day requirements. Easy to adapt: the vehicle and its fittings thus adapt to changing requirements throughout the rental period. In addition to this flexibility during the usage phase, the rental model offers particular economic benefits when vehicles, projects or requirements are time-limited or change regularly. Companies use the necessary equipment for the period in which it is actually needed and can thus adapt their vehicle fittings more flexibly to fleet and order cycles.

Initially, SRS Rent & Repurpose is available to end customers in Germany. A vehicle with SRS basic fittings is required. The rented shelving is fitted and returned via Sortimo branches.
